alt.Energy works at the nexus of promoting renewable energy and driving economic development in the Arkansas and Mississippi Delta.
Thanks to support from the Ford Foundation, alt.Consulting convened the Arkansas Green Energy Network (AGEN) in March 2011. AGEN has grown from 20 to 80 organizations and rural community leaders working together to identify entrepreneurial opportunities involving renewable energy and energy efficiency. AGEN is evolving into a value chain of organizations that benefit from this work while creating wealth in rural communities and safeguarding the environment.

With the help of a planning grant from the Ford Foundation and counseling through Yellow Wood Associates, alt.Consulting spent the past twelve months exploring the intersection between renewable energy and wealth creation opportunities in the Delta. In the process, we launched the Arkansas Green Energy Network (AGEN) which now involves some 80 organizations and community leaders interested in solar, bioenergy and energy efficiency. Together we identified strategies to be implemented in the Delta that will bring new business opportunities and create jobs. Our third meeting of AGEN on August 19th marked the transition from planning to implementation.
