alt.Consulting and USDA Rural Development Announce New Funding
Thanks to the support of USDA Rural Development in Tennessee, alt.Consulting is now providing one-on-one Managerial Assistance to small businesses located in 9 rural counties of western Tennessee. Businesses in these counties can also apply for loans up to $50,000.

Now, maybe more than ever before, it is important for you to know your credit score and your credit history. Be intentional in positioning yourself for credit. The first thing a lender will do when you need money is pull a credit report. Don’t be surprised by what he finds and don’t let him be surprised.
There are also things you should not do. Don’t pay someone to ‘clean up your credit.’ That doesn’t work.

Anyone who does contract work at a residence in Arkansas will be affected by Act 1208. Beginning January 1, 2012, anyone doing work at a residence when the project is $2,000 or more including labor and material must have a license from the Contractors Licensing Board.
There is a “grandfathering” period from July 27, 2011 until December 31, 2011. During that time period not test will be required to obtain a license but you must complete and submit the application to be grandfathered by December 31, 2011.
The penalty for performing work at a residence without a license can be up to $400 per day.
